The Social Problem
There are a number of challenges and roadblocks across the entire healthcare value chain in developing markets, spanning drug manufacturing to importation and registration, to delivery of healthcare services and products at the point of care. The key bottlenecks include a lack of infrastructure and financial resources, limited human resources, lack of training and skillsets, as well as limited information and data to understand healthcare performance and to assist stakeholders. Although billions of dollars have been invested through donor programs and much has been accomplished, there are many areas where improvements can be made.

Innovation and Activities
BroadReach is a patient-centred healthcare solutions company empowering local providers and global leaders inside governments, donor organizations, NGOs and commercial healthcare companies to efficiently deliver improved patient access, outcomes, and social well-being to under-served populations. It does this through its unique data analytics and social collaboration platform combined with proven strategic and operational know-how and on-the-ground staff to provide and implement actionable insights.

BroadReach has used its approach to shape healthcare policies in Botswana, South Africa and at the international level, and assisted some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies in designing strategies and business plans to create commercial access models to provide healthcare to those at the base of the pyramid.

BroadReach has also utilized this approach to conduct health systems improvement projects across 1,000 health facilities, train over 10,000 healthcare providers and 1,500 healthcare leaders and managers, and educate over 5 million patients.

BroadReach has worked on developing some of Africa’s most ground-breaking, innovative and successful healthcare programs, including Africa’s first national HIV treatment program, which has already provided HIV treatment support for over 500,000 patients, as well as HIV care support for over 1 million patients.
