International Media Council

The International Media Council (IMC), established by the World Economic Forum in 2006, is a community of 100 highly influential and respected media figures in the world.  The composition of the council ranges from editors-in-chief, publishers, columnists, managing editors and anchors, CEOs, bloggers, editorial opinion-makers both from broadcasting and print and coming from traditional and new media.
The objective of the IMC is to develop a better understanding of the complexity of global challenges and opportunities with the purpose of creating a well-informed public opinion. The IMC meets twice a year, for a Winter Meeting on the occasion of the Annual Meeting and for a Summer Meeting on the occasion of the Global Growth Companies Annual Meeting.

The selection of the IMC is made by a Membership Committee, based on clear criteria and guidelines, with selection based on the qualities of the individuals and the organizations they represent.
