World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa
The 2010 World Economic Forum on the Middle East and North Africa will take place on 26-28 October in Marrakech, in partnership with the Government of Morocco. Under the theme "Purpose, Resilience and Prosperity", the meeting will gather the foremost leaders from business, government and civil society to renew the region’s growth and development strategies in the context of pressing global risks, including oil price volatility, water scarcity and migration. Particular attention will be paid to sovereign wealth and its heightened focus on regional engagement in such pivotal areas as renewables, health and social systems, infrastructure development and technology readiness. The prospects of the Middle East and North Africa will be examined in view of new modalities for trade and investment across the Mediterranean and with sub-Saharan Africa, as well as the region’s evolving relationships with the United States and Asia.
