History of the Foundation


The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship is a non-profit organization based in Geneva, Switzerland.

It was founded by Klaus Schwab and his wife Hilde in 1998 to highlight and encourage men, women and organizations dedicated to creating opportunities for others in directly productive ways.

Klaus Schwab is the President and Founder of the World Economic Forum in Geneva, Switzerland. The World Economic Forum is a global community of business, political, intellectual and other leaders of society committed to improving the state of the world through economic and social development.
