CEO of Africa Improved Foods (AIF), a $70m joint venture between DSM, IFC, CDC and FMO, and a public private partnership with the Government of Rwanda. We are a producer of high quality, locally sourced, nutritious foods for the mass market, with a particular focus on vulnerable populations. In addition to our state-of-the-art facility in Rwanda, which can feed 1m children every day, we are expanding our activities into Ethiopia, Kenya and beyond. We work with 35,000 smallholder farmers, primarily women, to improve livelihoods and drive aflatoxin contamination out of the value chain. We feed 100,000 of the poorest mothers and infants in Rwanda in the largest anti-stunting program of its kind in Africa. A recent University of Chicago study funded by the World Bank estimated our 15 year discounted 'social NPV' to Rwanda and the neighbouring countries as more than $950m.
