Chris Underhill is a leading exponent on global mental health practice, a social entrepreneur, a trainer in community-based facilitation technique, conference speaker and mentor. He is the co-founder of the Elders Council for Social Entrepreneurs and citiesRISE as well as being the founder of BasicNeeds, Action on Disability and Development, and Thrive. Is on the Global Board of Leaders Quest and Chair of Carers Worldwide. He is a Senior Fellow with the Ashoka Fellowship, a recipient of the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship and a Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur. In 2000, Chris was made an MBE for his services to disability and development by HRH the Queen. He is currently co-founding the Elders Council for Social Entrepreneurs which is working on the succession of older social entrepreneurs and the contribution that they can make to those starting out.
