Chris Underhill

Chris Underhill is a leading exponent on global mental health practice, a social entrepreneur, a trainer in community-based facilitation technique, conference speaker and mentor. He is the founder of BasicNeeds, Action on Disability and Development, and Thrive. Chris chairs the International Centre for Social Franchising, and Carers Worldwide. He is a Senior Fellow with the Ashoka Fellowship, a recipient of the Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship and a Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur. In 2000, Chris received an MBE for his services to disability and development. He is currently co-founding citiesRISE, a multi-stakeholder initiative in cities north and south.
