Telapak

Founded in 1997, Telapak implements Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification for the sustainable forest community in South-East Asia. Telapak is an association of NGO activists, business practitioners, academics, media affiliates, and leaders of indigenous peoples, as well as local fishermen and farmer communities across Indonesia that are moving towards sustainability, sovereignty and integrity in natural resource management.

Telapak sustains its activities through the establishment of cooperatives and through several breakthrough programmes on organic agriculture, sustainable fisheries and forestry, ecotourism, and renewable energy. The word Telapak philosophically signifies the footprints that show the real embodiment of nature as it advances through the transition from a forest or ecosystem in particular to sustainable livelihoods in general.
